The Canal Loop Is located at Grand Rivers, KY approximately 20 minutes east of Paducah. The trail is approximately 12 miles long and is always in great condition. The Trail surface is mostly dirt/clay with some rocky sections. It is laid out between Kentucky and Barkley Lakes so you will be in for some pretty scenery from the shorelines of both lakes. The terrain is similar to Council Bluff, but features a more "rolling terrain" with longer climbs as opposed to Council Bluff's shorter more abrupt climbs. We recommend this trail for anyone who is ready to take the "next step" in their trail riding. Be ready for a challenge due to the length and the climbs. You will park at the North Welcome station just south of Grand Rivers the Trail head is well marked from the parking lot. While in the area there are many activities to enjoy with Both Lakes and LBL which is the "Land Between The Lakes" recreation area, be sure to check the link below for details.
